We sometimes hear about animals of different species getting along and perhaps we have even seen it in our own life as well. It is common for households that have dogs and cats, for example, to see this interaction between different species in a positive manner.
It seems as if other animals can also get along swimmingly, including those underwater. At the Bronx zoo in New York City, somebody captured something on video and it is freaking the Internet out. We expect to see a variety of animals in these aquariums, but would you ever expect to see a turtle going for a piggyback ride on a gharial crocodile? Not only is it unusual, nobody ever would have seen it coming.
There are certainly a lot of differing opinions when it comes to keeping animals at a zoo. One things is certain, however, when those animals are kept in a zoo location and cared for in the proper way, they can be just as healthy and happy as if they lived in the wild. There are even times when they may be cared for in a zoo because they are unable to live in the wild, such as if they had an injury or perhaps were abandoned when they were very young and never learned the proper life skills. We are not sure if that is the case with the animals at the Bronx Zoo but there is one thing we do know. We would never have had the opportunity to see something like this if they weren’t in captivity.
The turtle looks as if he had it all together and had planned it all out from the start. When he latches onto the crocodile, you can almost see the shock and horror in the crock’s eyes. It is a wonderful, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see something like this. The only question I have is, what was that turtle thinking?
