A bridge is a rather unique item, and it is one that we appreciate when we have a need for it. The purpose of the bridge is to get us from one area to another over an obstacle, such as a large body of water. One of the issues that is often associated with the bridge, however, is the fact that you have to be at incredible heights to get over some of those obstacles.
At times, a bridge can be quite a formidable obstacle. That is the case with the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, which is considered to be the “scariest bridge in the United States.” In spots, it is over 200 feet tall and there is no place to pull over if you should happen to have a problem. It has been the source of great anxiety for many motorists, resulting in panic attacks in people not being able to travel from one side to another.
Anxiety is a real problem that many of us have to face regularly. At times, it may just be a little voice in the back of our head but at other times, it can be devastating and even paralyzing. There may be certain fears that would cause a person to be afraid to go over the Bay Bridge, including a fear of heights, a fear of bridges, a fear of falling or a fear of drowning. At times, it may just be a combination or perhaps you can’t identify why the problem exists. One thing is certain, however, there are many people who are anxious about making this trip across the bridge and the fear is real.
This is an unfortunate problem for some people but it has resulted in a booming business for one man. His name is Alex, and he drives people from one side of the Bay Bridge to the other for $25. It is a solution that many people take advantage of.
