Over 30 Years Ago, This Legend Sat At A Piano, Smiled At The Camera And Stunned Millions Of People!

When you take a look back at your childhood, it is likely that there are certain events that stand out in your mind. Some of those involved family events, such as annual holidays but there may also be things that took place on a worldwide scale that impressed upon your mind as well. For those of us who lived through the 80s, we likely remember Live Aid and the memories of music that it produced.

Live Aid was a rather interesting phenomena that gained worldwide attention. It was devised by Sir Bob Geldof with the intention of raising money for Africa. This was unlike many other types of charity, people actually donated their time in order to raise the money that was necessary. Many of the world’s top musicians did just that, they donated their time and put on a concert that was of epic proportions.

The musicians that played in Live Aid were quite diverse and there was even an appearance by my personal favorite rock superstar of all time, Freddie Mercury. In fact, it is probably one of the things that I remember most about the concert but there was something else that I remember and it is a special memory for me. It was the time that Phil Collins sat down at a piano and played music so beautiful that it still gives me chills down to this day. There weren’t any fancy pyrotechnics and he wasn’t in the middle of a large band, it was just him and his music.

It is enjoyable to look back on our youth and to remember the things that meant the most to us back then. Watching Phil Collins play music at Live Aid is one of those moments. Even when he manages to hit a bad chord, which he does, he continues playing and gives it his all.
